Bless the flowers and the weeds, my birds and BEES!

Yesterday, while walking my camera...
this is what I discovered:

Last year in October, we found some bee hives on our property.
If you saw it on the blog,
you'll remember that our friend Jim came over with all his garb
and homemade hives...

Well, we've finally struck gold(en).....honey!
WOW!
This is great news!
After the dog having to share his water bowl with them all dry season,
this is the reward!

Below, you'll see Jim preparing to smoke,
and smoking out the bees form their current home...
(trial by error)

As he carried the temporary hive to the place of transfer, he said:
"This thing is heavy, and full!"

WOW!
He was soooo right...
Look at all those bees...
and ALL that honey!

I enjoyed this part so much...
He just poured the rest of the bees into their new home..
and it's a mansion!
(My next painting project!)

Saving the world,
one bee at a time!!

Fishing Isla Jicaron, Panama!

Two day fishing trip to Isla Jicaron and Isla Montuosa:

Dylan: Mahi-Mahi
(some call it Dolphin or Dorado, I call it dinner!)

Billy: Blue Jack

Dylan: Blue Jack
Very large ray.
(Also the highlight of the trip for the kids...??)

Frenzy!!

Since there wasn't much sleeping going on...
why not FISH some more!!?
(small shark)

FISH ON!!!
Fish off...

                                                                                       So sad!

Billy: Mahi-Mahi

For the catch of the trip,
Dylan fought a very big fish for 95 minutes
(unassisted I'm told to add!) before he handed over the pole.
Lil' Billy: 15 minutes
For the remainder of the time, which in total was 4 hours and 15 minutes,
Dad & Dylan passed the pole back and forth every half hour.

Above & below: That look on his face says it all: "REALLY!!??"

At last!!!

Tuna: Over 100lbs!

Kudos Dylan!!
(Daddy said his knee where a knocking and he was completely spent!!)

Here's some of the rest of their catch:
(For perspective, that's a pallet they're on)
We sold the fish, $3 per lb to our friends the Slagle's.
(Which bty paid for 1/2 the trip!)
They've recently opened a restaurant in Boquete: Big Daddy's
Can't wait to go eat some of our catch!

Some views of the islands.

I must have jinxed the boys the last time they did an over-night fishing trip because I pre-blogged it...

So this time, I waited until they came home and WOW!
So, obviously it was because me that they had such a great time!
(hahaha!)

Mission: Laundry Room Wall

Status: Complete

So mom...
The next time you ask what I could possibly be painting now...

"Life is like a great big canvas,

and you should throw all the paint on it you can."
